Improving your surface finish

In partnership with Precision Polishing, we supply products in the microfinishing, polishing and lapping sector. Product material includes diamond, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide all available in both slurry and electrostatic coatings. The grit range is from 0.5μm to 100μm. This range of products is predominately supplied to cylinder manufacturers, automotive and aerospace customers. Workpieces include cylinders (various materials and applications e.g. rotogravure/print), crankshafts, camshafts, pistons and hydraulic parts.

The material can be supplied in various forms including rolls, sheets, belts and discs. Various backing options are available e.g. thickness, anti-slip and PSA.

FA35 series microfinishing (electrostatic aluminium oxide)

Features:

Full range of aluminium oxide grits.
Strong backing film (75 microns) resistant to both water and oil.
Can be utilised with CNC automated machinery.
Non-slip coating on the backside of the film.

Applications/workpiece materials:

Metal and rubber cylinders.
Cam and crank shafts.
Metallurgy.
Several finishing processes.

Grit availability:

9, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 60 Micron.

Forms:

Rolls in 100mm or 200mm width with 76.2mm 4 keyed plastic core.

FA50 series microfinishing (electrostatic aluminium oxide)

Features:

Full range of aluminium oxide grits.
Strong backing film (125 microns) resistant to both water and oil.

FD55 series microfinishing (electrostatic diamond)

Features:

Full range of diamond grits.
Strong backing film (125 microns) resistant to both water and oil.
Can be utilised with CNC automated machinery.
Non-slip coating on the backside of the film.
Due to the sharp diamond structure and strong resin bond FD55 gives a fast and aggressive cutting power, high product strength and durability.
Can reduce time cycles and abrasive consumption.
Colour coded to ensure correct quality is used for the process.

Sintered metals, super alloys and cast materials.
Glass, stone and gemstones.
Composite materials.
Grinding and superfinishing processes of hard materials, various workpiece geometries.

Superfinishing attachments for lathes and grinding machines

Various types of attachments/machines. Single head and double head attachments available with various options. Machines start at approx £14,000.00, with a delivery of approx. 4 weeks. Spare parts stocked in Germany with a quick delivery service. Ex-display/demo machines available on request.
